Rate & Discuss: The Wedding of River Song
As the Doctor makes his final journey to the shores of Lake Silencio in Utah, he knows only one thing can keep the universe safe – his own death.
All good things must come to an end, but did the Series 6 finale live up to expectations?
If you’re reading these words, it means that the anticipated finale has at long last aired (well, either that or the Daleks have hijacked our system mainframes again!), and all of our questions have finally been answered. In The Wedding of River Song, there was something wrong with time, as the Doctor faced an epic showdown on his final journey.
There were plenty of mysteries to be resolved, and, in true Moffat style, tonight’s final raced before our eyes at a mind-bogglingly rocket speed, bringing together old friends, old enemies and, of course, an impossible astronaut. The Doctor’s date with destiny was full of last minute shocks, twists and revelations, but was it the pay off you hoped for?
Whether you loved it, loated it or didn’t really get it, you can rate, discuss and get your head around the explosive Series 6 finale in the comments below. Next stop, Christmas!
Tick, tock, goes the clock, he won’t be gone for long. Tick, tock, rate and discuss, The Wedding of River Song…
no, no, he’s not. He can’t be!!!
I think it’s that he’s staying until 2013 (at least) because Moffat has something AWESOME planned for the 50th anniversary. If he’s doing just one more series (which I hope not; I love him)then it will probably be split between 2012/2013. But anyway he’s my favourite and I hope he does stay for a while :D
@lauren
Ive just read the exact same thing…. If its true then it sounds to me that he would bow out at christmas next year…..
Although would be a fitting end to the 11th if he regenerated on the big day…. November 23rd 2013!!!
He says he currently has one year left; which would mean one more series, rather than just next year, as we already know that next series is going to be split between 2012 and 2013 he won’t be leaving until until the fiftieth anniversary, if indeed he does end up leaving.
Ooh, fiftieth anniversary regeneration story? That could be fun…
do u know what the christmas episode is going to be.
Hmmm I had a theory 4 the X-mass special but oh well it’s pretty screwed now but if river isn’t in it then I’ll jump from up here lol :)
christmas special .. that should be good! i can’t wait because i’m getting the DVD boxset of series six for christmas as well :D
@marcus
No-one knows the title yet if that is what you meant. There has been a synopsis for the christmas episode and i think it has finished filming i’m not sure of that though but so far no-one knows what the title is called at this moment in time.
well we’ll know on November 18! The title will be revealed on the children in need telemarathon
@Patrick It’ll be something like “Out of the Closet”!!!
hello just came to say sorry to annie i left my computer on and my brother went on he said all those nasty things!!! i hope no ones feelings were badly hurt. and i hope no one left this sight because of his behaviour, sorry again, oh and i ennjoyed the episode
@amelia
The Doctor, The widow and the wardrobe ;)
i know, i love it :D
Also:
I’m going to need a diversion! Run the trailer! RUN THE TRAILER!!!!
This is kinda random but, my dad is building me a Tardis!!!!! Hopfully it won’t be like his other projects that takes him 5 years to finishes.
Coolies :D
Anyway ‘The Doctor, The widow and the wardrobe’ honestly weird name, but still the Trailer looks good.
Did anyone here that the Doctor is selling his costume for charity? last time I looked it was 50 thousand ausie dollers, I think it finished today. But I do want his BOW TIE ( only the sad thing is a bow tie wouldn’t go with a dress).
RTD is more realistic than steven moffat.
Steven Moffat neet to plan realistic episodes ! in 2014 for the next doctor maybe ?
@royb4ever
matt has said he wants to be the doctor for a long time further than 2014.
@royb4ever
More realistic? You mean like that time the Tardis towed the Earth back to it’s correct position? (I like RTD a lot, but I wouldn’t say he was all about the realism!)
We’re discussing realism…in a sci-fi show? :P
As much as I loved RTD’s series, I find that, compared to Moffat, they were more like a sitcom in space. You couldn’t make it to the 45-minute mark without a dash of the old kitchen sink. Moffat, on the other hand, has actually embraced and pushed the limitations of the show – the Doctor has a time machine, which means he can a) visit places other than present day London/Cardiff and b) meet people in the wrong order (does noone else think it an odd coincedence that, up til now, he has a surprisingly uncharacteristic run of good luck when it comes to his own chronology? Anybody else that spends 1100 years knocking around time and space is bound to get a bit muddled with when he meets people…). That, and personally, I find the lack of Doctor/Companion romantic subplot very refreshing…(I’m deliberately ignoring River Song for that comment because I just bloody love her).
This is a good blog message, I will keep the post in my mind. If you can add more video and pictures can be much better. Because they help much clear uderstanding.caiyifang/comment201111
