Daniel Radcliffe has revealed that he is sure David Yates will do “a wonderful job” when he takes Doctor Who to the big screen.

In December it was revealed the director will be helming a film adaptation of the series, and the Harry Potter actor – who worked with Yates on the movies – has predicted good things, but has ruled out any possibility of himself appearing in it as the Doctor. “Matt Smith plays Doctor Who and does a wonderful job,” he said. “They don’t need me.”

He added: “I would never presume to jump into somebody else’s franchise. David will do a wonderful job I am sure, and whoever he casts will have a very good time.”

Yates has said the Doctor’s journey to the big screen will be a “long” but “exciting” one.

I thought Steven Moffat put that rumour to rest.

Mm, not sure about the use of the future tense here, Mr. Radcliffe. Conditional, I’d accept. Future… Hmph.

I was about to post a scathing comment to the effect that if Radders became the Doctor I’d be tuning out……but all of a sudden, now I’m not so sure. Radders could, on reflection, bring a very sad, very pained approach to the Doctor, to more reflect what Matt Smith has said on occasion which is the Doctor has a lot of blood on his hands and can never afford to slow down and feel his pain…..Radders for the Doctor in 2013! : )

Hmmm, I’m never happy commenting on other shows on this post but I’d cringe if The Doctor were allowed to get away with the same stick figure performances that the majority of the cast of Harry Potter got away with! I don’t want them anywhere near our little blue box!

Steven Moffat said any Doctor Who movie would feature the Doctor of the day. There’s weirdly been a lot of talk about Daniel and Emma Watson in regards to Doctor Who but all of it is fan speculation as opposed to actual links to the part, so none of it bothers me.

Personally, I doubt that Daniel nor Emma would want permanant parts in Doctor Who, such as the Doctor or the Companion, because they’ve already been locked into a franchise for an unusually extended period of time and they’re not gonna wanna commit to another one so soon.

IF there’s a movie, Steven Moffat said it’d be based on the TV show canon and the Doctor of the day. As such, anything related to what David Yates says is taken with more than a pinch of salt.
