Filming begins – first picture, guest stars revealed!
Production on the this year’s series of Doctor Who is now underway in South Wales, and the BBC has today revealed some exciting details to coincide with the start of filming!
Firstly, a new publicity picture of its stars, Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill, has been released, showing the trio back in familiar territory, on the set in Cardiff!
“It’s thrilling and exciting to be back and working with two of my closest friends,” Matt has commented.
Karen teased: “It is brilliant to be back on the TARDIS for our craziest adventures yet…”
Plus, Mark Williams, David Bradley and Rupert Graves have been named as guest stars.
This series will see the last days of the Ponds as they return for their final, rollercoaster voyage with the Doctor. Amy and Rory have been at the Doctor’s side for more than two series, but what will he do after their heartbreaking departure?
Series 7 will then see a dramatic turn of events when the Doctor meets a new friend. Prepare yourselves for thrills, adventures and dramatic surprises as the show builds towards its enormous, climactic 50th anniversary year.
14 big, blockbuster-movie episodes, each a brand new epic adventure featuring new monsters and some familiar foes as you’ve never seen them before.

this sounds very very good i cant wait til filming finishes and we all get to see it on telly the time will drag for me waiting for that day to come i just cant wait :)

……it’s who you know with Rupert Graves, but I suppose that’s fair enough really, lol.
I knew who Mark Williams was, obviously, but I didn’t know the guy who played Filch’s real name until TSG mentioned it.
Some interesting casting, I just hope they get used properly like Katherine Jenkins and not like Bill Bailey.
Arthur Weasley and DI Lestrade in Doctor Who? Oh, it’s a crossover paradise for the fangirls…
