Peter Capaldi is the cover star of this week’s Radio Times as Steven Moffat reveals why he makes the perfect Doctor.

“When you pick a Doctor, you want somebody who is utterly compelling and attractive in a strange way,” the showrunner said. “None of the Doctors are conventionally attractive, but they’re arresting. Handsome men don’t quite fit. Matt Smith is a young, good-looking guy from one angle, but is actually the strangest looking man from another. And you need that oddity. You need somebody carved out of solid star.”
