New rumours have surfaced this week claiming that Doctor Who will be taking another “hiatus” next year.

According to the speculation, as reported in the current affairs magazine Private Eye, Steven Moffat has instead decided to concentrate his creative energies on his other hit BBC show, Sherlock, which means that the Time Lord will be going on a break with no full series due to air in 2016. It wouldn’t be the first time the show has had a gap year; 4 episodes were aired in 2009 to accommodate its behind the scenes overhaul which saw Steven replacing Russell T Davies as showrunner.

While the BBC have refused to comment on the developments, it is already being theorised that Steven will bow out from his head writing duties after a final year of sporadic specials. He recently confirmed that he’s signed on to oversee the show for at least one more year.

As always, treat it with a pinch of salt for now. We’ll cross this bridge if/when we get to it…

Wait, didn’t someone announce last week(or something like that), that there would be no new series for Sherlock or did that end up being a false rumor?

Moffatt is such a louse!! At least RTD waited until DT got 4 years under his belt. Moffatt should do the honourable thing and go now!!
