The first two Doctor Who Adventure Games have been officially launched internationally.
City of the Daleks and Blood of the Cybermen – both written by Phil Ford – can now be purchased ,exclusively from Direct2Drive, for a special bundle price of $6.99. The remaining two episodes will also be available to buy on the retail game site for a small fee shortly after their respective UK releases. The games are currently being showcased at this year’s San Diego Comic Con.
City of the Daleks sees the Doctor and Amy face the dreaded Daleks as their latest scheme threatens to wipe out virtually every human in existence, while, in Blood of the Cybermen, our heroes arrive in the Arctic, where something that has been waiting under the ice for thousands of years turn members of a survey team from flesh to metal.

The official site has revealed that there will be a special event celebrating the launch of the new game, Blood of the Cybermen, tomorrow in Cardiff, giving fans the opportunity to meet the Daleks and the Cybermen.
Hosted by Jason Mohammad, the BBC newsreader and presenter who has also made guest appearances in Doctor Who, the day is set to kick off at 10:00AM at the Hayes in the city centre, with attendees being amongst the first to play the new interactive episode!
In addition, free post cards and posters will be available on a first-come, first served basis. The event will conclude at 14:00. Blood of the Cybermen is released tomorrow.

The BBC has released a TARDIS-load of information about the second instalment of the Adventure Games!
Episode 2, written by Phil Ford, officially named today as Blood of the Cybermen, will be released for free download for UK users on the official site from 26th June (that’s this Saturday!), and sees the Doctor and Amy Pond journey to the Arctic, where they find something sinister which has been waiting for thousands of years under the ice - an army of Cybermen!
To whet our appetites, the BBC has released a teaser trailer, as well as two downloadable script extracts. In addition, you can catch up with video coverage of its launch at Gavinburn Primary School, where showrunner Steven Moffat took part in a Q&A session about the game, which was naturally, interrupted, by the Cybermen, and there are also concept art and screenshot preview galleries.
Details of its international release are expected to be announced shortly. Stay tuned!

Prepare to be deleted, as a new promotional image for the second of the brand new Adventure Game has surfaced online!
In the forthcoming interactive episode, written by Phil Ford and rumoured to be called The Winter of Terror, the Doctor and Amy arrive in the Arctic, where members of a survey team are turning from flesh to metal and digging something sinister from under the ice that has been waiting for thousands of years – an army of Cybermen!
We’ll learn much more about the game when it is launched at a special school event in Glasgow next week, and we’ll bring you the latest updates, as we get them!

News has surfaced today that the first Adventure Game, City of the Daleks, has been downloaded half a million times since it was released for free on the official website earlier this month!
Of the figure, controller of portfolio and multiplatform at BBC Vision, Simon Nelson, told MCV: “The result is a lot more than I was expecting. We had set ourselves some fairly stretched targets on this and we’ve blown them away. The credit goes to the Doctor Who and marketing teams.”
He added: “Crucially, the industry and the audience have felt we have created something different here that works. That’s probably more important than the numbers.”

The Doctor Who website has confirmed that next week the second Adventure Game will be launched at a special event in Glasgow.
On Tuesday 22nd June, Steven Moffat will visit the city and drop by at a school where a group of students will be able to try out the interactive episode, featuring the Cybermen, before anyone else. Afterwards, the showrunner will take time out to answer a handful of their questions regarding the game and the series as a whole.
Later that same day, Phil Ford, the writer of the first two games Charles Cecil, one of the executive producers, and Nick Briggs, voice of the Daleks/Cybermen, will be taking part in a panel at Pacific Quay. The Q&A will be streamed live on the official website, and fans have been invited to submit their questions for the panel.

We’re delighted to reveal that we’ll be attending the Bad Wolf convention this weekend, and while we’re there we’ll be interviewing two of its guests, Nick Briggs and Phil Ford!
Nick Briggs has provided the voice of the Daleks in the revived Doctor Who as well as the Cybermen and the Judoon, and also appeared in Children of Earth. Phil Ford co-wrote the 2009 special, The Waters of Mars, and also penned the animated Dreamland. More recently, he put pen to paper for City of the Daleks, the first Adventure Game.
We’re thrilled to have been given the opportunity to speak to them, and, of course, we’d like you to get involved too, so if you’ve got any questions for either/both, please leave them in a comment on this story. Whovians have been downloading City of the Daleks in the masses since it appeared online earlier this week, however today it officially launches and as such the BBC have released a new trailer to promote its release!
In the first of four interactive episodes, the Doctor (that’s you!) and Amy must defeat the Daleks’ latest scheme, which has wiped out virtually every human in existence. Journey to Skaro and save the day, before Amy slips out of time itself…

The first instalment of the Doctor and Amy’s Adventure Games, City of the Daleks, has today been unveiled on the Doctor Who website (*cough cough*), and the BBC have issued a press release to mark its official release.
Showrunner Steven Moffat said: “Matt Smith has been brilliant as the Doctor, but now it’s your turn. We’ve got a cracking story which takes players on a journey to places they’ve only ever dreamed of, in an adventure which threatens to see Amy slip out of time itself.”
He added: “Players get to use the sonic screwdriver themselves, which is pretty cool, and jump between different times. Plus, you’ll meet one of the most evil creations in the whole of time and space. So whilst it’s fun, it’s also scary – exactly as an episode of Doctor Who should be.”
Meanwhile, Karen Gillan is also interviewed on the official website about the game, labelling it ‘top notch’, admitting that she wasn’t expecting the finished product to be as good as it is! She explains: “It was quite a surreal experience, because they’d be like ‘run now!’ and then we’d be running, and then crawling.”
‘City of the Daleks’ sees the TARDIS materialize in 1963 as the Doctor takes to Amy to London to meet The Beatles. However, the London they encounter is very different to the one they expected: a ravaged Trafalgar Square reveals a new Dalek threat, and one which has wiped out virtually every human in existence. Amy’s existence in this alternate world jeopardises everything, forcing the Doctor not just to defeat the Daleks’ latest plan, but save his new companion from slipping out of time itself…
