2011’s first issue of Doctor Who Magazine will be available to buy later in the week, and its new look cover has been revealed ahead of its release!

In the new issue, DWM looks ahead to the forthcoming series to discover just what lies in store for the Doctor and Amy, while Matt Smith and Karen Gillan spill the beans on each other’s fashion sense and snogging skills. There’s also the usual interviews, features and competitions, and the issue comes with 3 free exclusive collectors’ cards!

You’ll be able to buy Doctor Who Magazine Issue #430 from Thursday 13th January.

The new look doesn’t look that different to be honest, although it does look a bit amaturish. Im glad the art cards are becoming an issue regular :D

I look forward to reading the interviews with Matt and Karen. I like the art cards, but I have next to no space on my walls anymore! I’ll have to start prioritising my posters!

I’m the same, I’ve got no more room. I’m glad it’s going to be a regular item though because there a collectors item. @TSG

It’s £4.50 monthly now. That’s what it said on the back page of the last issue.

This Looks Brilliant, has it actually been confirmed that the collector cards are regulars to the magazine or is it just for a few issue? :)

It’s a bit busy, really; and you can tell they’re aiming it at the younger market.

I wouldn’t say that. It’s more like they’re trying to steal the children from Doctor Who Adventures and become the supreme Doctor Who magazine. To be honest though, I don’t see the need for a new look about eleven months after the last new-look featured.

I think DWM has changed more than enough already to try and appeal to the new, younger fans since the show came back; I hope it isn’t slipping even further down that route. Like you say, a magazine for very young readers already exists now, lets keep DWM for older readers. (I don’t mean kids shouldn’t read it, I used to read DWM as a ten year old, so it’s not as though you need to appeal to young fans by trying to give it more ‘youth appeal’)

Mm, I agree. It would be a shame if DWM were, for want of a better phrase, ‘dumbed down’. The ‘older’, more wordy articles, which would never appear in DWA, are the best ones. I think the old look was better.

so glad that the time team are back. it’ll be very interesting to see how different their views are to the 21st century eps.
