Series 5 to air Down Under from April 18th!

tardis-doctor-trailerTV Tonight, Australia’s leading TV blog, has today revealed the date on which the forthcoming series of Doctor Who will begin transmitting in Australia!

The series will commence on ABC1 on Sunday April 18th at 7:30PM with The Eleventh Hour, which will see the Eleventh Doctor, played by Matt Smith, getting to know his new body, and also meeting his new companion, Amy Pond, portrayed by Karen Gillan.

And before it has its network premiere, it’ll also be made available to watch exclusively online via ABC’s iView platform from 12:00AM on Saturday April 17th.

Elsewhere, Series 5 will be launching both in the US, on BBC America, and in Canada, on Space, on Saturday 17th April. While the UK transmission details are still to be finalized, it’s expected to begin its 13-week run on BBC One/HD on Saturday April 3rd. Stay tuned!
