Amy’s History Hunt set to launch on Monday
Last month we told you about a brand new game featuring Amy Pond, and the official website has today confirmed that it will be launching it on Monday!
Entitled Amy’s History Hunt, the objective is to help Amy unlock the Doctor’s safe, with specially shot videos starring Karen Gillan. The quest will include facts and trivia about the Doctor’s friends and places he’s visited, as Amy offers her own unique point of view about some of the people she’s met throughout her TARDIS travels.
Completers of the game will unlock a special short story written by Paul Cornell. Head over to the official website now to see a preview of the game. What do you think?
As a Canadian I find it hard to get excited about this because, like everything else on the BBC Website, we won’t be able to access it. And just like Attack of the Graske and the Series 2 Webisodes and Captain Jack’s Monster Files I don’t expect to see this pop up on a DVD. Of course, just like with Attack of the Graske and, indeed, the preview view for History Hunt, the video will be online at YouTube immediately, but that won’t be the same as playing the game and being able to read Cornell’s short story.
Ahhh, not funny!! I’m ridiculously excited about this but i’m on holiday ’til nest Saturday! I can’t wait! I think it’s awesome that it’s being shown from Amy’s point of view.
Amy reminds me of Bonnie Langford in terms of like ability, harsh but true.
While I’m excited about new clips with Karen, the concept sounds a little bleak. Read up on people you already know about and then hear an actresses scripted opinions on that character. The prize at completion of the game doesn’t grab me either.

What, you were expecting a new car? ;)
Seriously, it’s just meant to be a bit of fun, plus I can’t see anyone complaining about getting to see some one-on-one footage of Karen Gillan! (Except I guess for those who somehow are capable of finding any comparison with Bonnie Langford! ;) ) And an exclusive Doctor Who short story by one of the series’ most acclaimed writers after RTD and Moffat? I don’t see the problem. I just hope the story becomes available to those of us who aren’t allowed to play the game – one saving grace of the BBC’s geolocking the website as it tends not to affect text, so we’ve been able to enjoy a number of quite good short stories as a result.
