James Marsters hoping for Captain John comeback
August 6th, 2010
James Marsters has revealed that he’s hoping to be asked to return as Captain John Hart in Series 4 of Torchwood.
The character was introduced in Series 2 of the spin off, but the actor has told io9 that he’s hatching a scheme to get him back with Jack.
He said: “No, I haven’t heard anything, but Russell’s over here [in LA] trying to find American cast for it. If he doesn’t call me, I will find him. I will tickle him until he bleeds!”
Would you like to see John make an appearance in Series 4? Let us know below…
The new series of Torchwood begins filming in the UK and the US at the start of 2011.
Ermmm at the risk of sounding unpopular I dont think his return is vital. I wasnt that keen on the character anyway. In fact season 2 was not as good as series 1 and 3. personally i dont think hes needed
I hated his character and I really hope he doesn’t come back.
It would be interested to see him to return he was good at the role
Yes – not just as a reminder that this is still Torchwood, but because of vital information we’re still owed: how the downfall of the Time Agency came about, how he found Gray or Gray found him, and what happened regarding Jack’s missing years. Oh, and what his real name is, of course.

To be honest, I’m beginning to doubt we’ll ever learn Jack’s real name, or what happened in those two years and why they were removed. Per esempio, in the Gray stories, even in the flashbacks, they purposefully avoided his name. Didn’t even draw attention to it. The only time they have was when he and Tosh went back to the Blitz, and ever since, nothing.
