Two Amys and a TARDIS load inside a TARDIS load of timey-wimey goodness – only in a Doctor Who Comic Relief special! What did you think of the mini-adventure?
The Doctor, Amy and Rory have done their bit, now it’s time to do ours! Call 03457 910 910 or see the Red Nose Day website to find out how you can donate to Comic Relief!
Best thing since christmas, hilarious , timey wimey stuff, and not as cheesy as i expected it to be, only thing is it was too short :( and reminded me how much i miss doctor who
I didn’t like it, made me angry in all honesty. However, I know people are passionate on this forum, so I won’t go into why.
Hope others were able to enjoy it.
It was AMAZING. You cant get much better than 2 Amy’s, 2 Rory’s AND 2 Doctors…….BRING ON EASTER :)
Well that was rather fun, wasn’t it? Moffat condensed into a few minutes, funny, quick, smart, timey whimey,lovely.
@JC
I think you’re just going to have to accept that that sort of slightly saucy fun now has a place in modern Who, or else burst a brain vessel!
Though it was good, only Amy went into the inside TARDIS and came out with Rory quicker than she had it explained to her before. Other than that, wet my Dr Who pallet perfectly! “My skirt, my husband, your glass floor” classic
@TWWL
I can’t accept it unfortunately, though you’re absolutely right that whatever I think, it aint gonna change.
Fortunately, on the other hand, I’m able to have a little rant about it to people that will listen and then move on, but it does grate on my nerves because I like Amy but I don’t like how she’s written somtimes, at all.
I know I’m in the minority though, I actually worry about saying anything because everyone else loves it, lol
@JC
i can see what you mean, i do like the flirty side but sometimes it can be too much
I think it can get in the way of the actual story or atmosphere in the show , so The Moff shud control it , unlike in these mini episodes , he should think about (for the sake of Matts Doctor)trying to tone it down and making more serious episodes in the future (if not S6)
That said , as a red blooded male , you cant complain when Amy Pond is concerned
Absolutely wonderful and perfect for Comic Relief! I even liked Rory’s part in the shenanigans. The Moff Man is brilliant. Amy’s reaction to meeting herself was the next best flirt to Captain Kirk’s flirtations with himself (though actually a chameleon-like creature) in “Undiscovered Country”.
The 11th Doctor joins the 3rd Doctor in having met his own self.
Can’t wait to meet that Impossible Astronaut come Easter.
Very enjoyable and very well written. Too short, but then again they could have just given us the one part, so hey, it’ll do till April 23.
I’ll be frank. I like the fact that modern show recognizes that the majority of its worldwide audience is adults, and as such occasionally throws out the occasional thing that is aimed directly at this demo. Having a glass floor/Amy’s miniskirt joke fell into the “it’s about time” category. Coincidentally I saw the mini-ep shortly after listening to the first chapter of Big Finish’s Peri and the Piscon Paradox which actually addressed the elephant in the room (minor spoiler ahead) and included a – perfectly in context – boob joke. Just like the miniskirt joke was perfectly in context. Hey, it wasn’t the Doctor who dropped the spanner, now was it?
Tonight’s mini-ep was perfectly in keeping with the tone of Doctor Who, just as the Ronnie Corbett-meets-K9 mini-ep was perfect for The Sarah Jane Adventures.
Any day with The Doctor and his Companions is a good day!
Well, it’s good to know at least a couple of people could see my side of things and I accept I can’t convince everyone of what I thought was offensive, it’s just good to know my opinion has been accepted.
I should add my opinion is from an adult perspective, I’m only just over a year older than Karen.
slightly off subject did anyone else think that david tennants short films about children in africa were amazing, a very well done to him for being so brave , i picked up the phone and donated £150 after, hopefully others did too.
Made me giggle, though I can see your point @JC – this is a family show. I think that might be just pushing the line a bit far. I can imagine this sort of thing would actually happen in the TARDIS, so I’m not worried about it being unrealistic, but I don’t particularly want my little cousins now turning to their parents for an explanation.
Im glad there was 2 Rorys and 2 Doctors as well as 2 Amys!
@TSG
It didn’t seem too adult to me though, the kids would giggle because Rory could see up her skirt. They wouldn’t think anything too sexual about it, just funny and rude. Adults worry too much about this stuff.
I just know I felt when I watched it, which was a lot of discomfort at the idea. I can’t justify myself anymore than that, unfortunately.
It may just be one of those things that means I’ll have to stop watching the show, at least till Amy leaves
