Next Time: Let’s Kill Hitler
As we look back fondly on Series 6’s first seven weeks of high drama, action and suspense, we can be reassured with the knowledge that we’ve got another six to look forward to later in the year (as well as the Christmas special)!
Although the Doctor’s return in the autumn feels like it’s a million miles away right now, tonight’s cliffhanger has left us with plenty to speculate over, and we were also given some information about his forthcoming adventures. He’ll be back in Episode 8, which has been named as Let’s Kill Hitler.
In addition, a teaser for it has aired featuring a skeleton and the tagline “Time runs out”.
The Doctor Who site also has a video of Steven Moffat and Alex Kingston sharing some hints about what lies ahead. The spring series may be over, but it’s only the start!
Creepy teaser, awesome name of the next episode though. lol
“Returns later 2011″. Oh, thanks Beeb. WHEN is it coming back already?!?? haha
Anyway I’ll try not to read too much into that skeleton. Moffat is messing with our heads. There are painfully obvious clues and then such teeny tiny obscure ones too. None of us know what to guess any more! :P
At the moment, it’s rumoured to air in September to presumably coincide with Series Four of Merlin. So, less than three months to go :)
I thought that name was a joke when someone told me it was going to be called that
It might start on September 10th
Three months. It’ll feel like thirteen.
@PRB
Or three years!
@TE
Coinciding with another drama sounds a little odd – surely they’d rather have one family drama throughout the year, and thus should put these sorts of programs end to end if possible?
@TSG
Merlin was going to return next Spring (which would obviously be a problem due to Series Seven), but Colin Morgan said it would return in September/October. I suppose it could air after Series Six finishes but then they would have to cram thirteen episodes into the few weeks before Christmas.
It’s a bit like the situation with Merlin and Robin Hood in 2008, although Robin Hood had the benefit of Doctor Who not having a full series and could be aired in Spring 2009.
Hmmm, I wonder because Merlin and Doctor Who shared the same time didnt they?
So one of them must be getting a time change because they cant run simultaneously
Three Months!!!
At least we will have torchwood to pass the time away
lets kill hitler. huh.
I’d been waiting to hear the name and after the show i was on the edge of my seat and then i saw it and just burst out laughing :D doctor who will NEVER fail to surprise me
Doctor Who will be returning to your home screen on the second week of September 2011 where the doctor will see his final battle and will die before his friends.
@Oswald A spoiler or just hopeful suggestion?
How far is this series going to change from the original premise of what Doctor Who should be about? Is it a soap opera or a sci fi adventure? Is this the real Doctor or has he died in the Time War and been resurrected in the same way as the Master? “Let’s Kill Hitler” is a dreadful title. In all honesty, this year has been a terrible let down so far. After last nights episode, I am left with a feeling that I could not be bothered any more and what really scares me about that is that I have been a Doctor Who fan since 1975 and have always had the excited feeling when the titles rolled and even in Doctor Who’s dark years of the 1980’s, I looked forward to the next episode.
lets kill hitler? thats very abrupt for a title isnt it?
So some people have a problem with the hilarious title ‘Let’s Kill Hitler’?! What is up with you!
@TWWL
I dont think its a ‘hilarious’ title
But I dont see why anyone would have a problem with it
Its Doctor Who for goodness sake – a flagship BBC program – its obviously goin to be done in good taste
I think its a great title!
I wonder if it has anything to do with the scene at the very beginning of the series when he’s in the tunnel and asks “the commandants room, is it the one with the big flag on the wall?”
Can’t wait.
It’s very Mel Brooks.
Not the sort of title I was expecting, and not a very Doctor Who title at all…which is why I laughed all the more when I saw it on screen!
I was wondering if the title is a reference to the
“…if you could go back in time and kill hitler as a baby would you?”
Given that we are emotionally invested in Melody Pond who may or may not turn out to be a weapon, if she is ultimatly responsible for the deaths of millions, would we kill her?
