In today’s episode, Sarah Jane finds a baby girl on her doorstep and tries to find out who abandoned her.

13 Bannerman Road reopens its doors for one last trilogy of adventures starring the late Elisabeth Sladen, and the final series kicked off this afternoon with a mysterious delivery!

When Sarah Jane found a baby girl on her doorstep, she set out on a mission to discover the truth behind its suprise arrival. With added reports of a ‘Metal man’ falling from out of the sky, there is definitely more to it than there seems, and the mystery deepens when a beautiful lady with alien powers appears out of thin air at a nearby nuclear power station.

She’s looking for something, and it doesn’t take a genius to work out who may have it…

So, what did you think of the first part of Sky? Rate and discuss it in the comments! The opening story will conclude tomorrow afternoon at 5:15pm over on the CBBC Channel.

It was good to see Sarah Jane again, I have to admit I did feel a little tear or two at the beginning of the episode, to this day I still can’t believe she’s gone. It was great to see Clyde, Luke and Rani again. But one more thing, “the child is a weapon”, at the end of the episode; where have we heard that one before…

It got off to quite a slow beginning; great to see the characters again and especially seeing Liz once again star as the legendary Sarah Jane Smith. As Sam said the whole child is a weapon thing right at the end was very familiar :P slow start, good in the middle, interesting at the end, SJS is back 4 out of 5.

I was just waiting and hoping for Sarah to say “A child is not a weapon.” And then Miss Myers to say something like, “Well this one is.”

It was good, I just couldn’t help thinking about how we so tragically lost such an amazing person.

Quite strange to have that line and a reference to the Doctor in the same episode, especially only a few months after A Good Man Goes To War. Not only was it strange seeing that soldier from Torchwood in this episode, but it was quite emotional seeing Lis once again.

Quite a slow episode, but it’s certainly looking brilliant. Not too sure about Sky being part of the gang when she’s younger than even Maria was in Invasion of the Bane. But, 4/5 for this episode.

Knowing that the last episode this season will mean the last of Lis has me almost too heart broken to watch! I remember when the series first came on, I was so excited for her and what she would do with it! And then all the stress about whether they were going to renew her show (budget issues) and I wanted to scream “She’s too awesome to lose!)

The second season was even better and I loved everything they did with SJA! Waiting for her return every year was what I looked forward to just like Doctor Who and Torchwood. I thought those three shows worked! And when they combined them, WOW!

So what I hope, probably more than anything, is that they find a way to develope a new show from the ashes of the SJA’s.

Come on guys, aliens are still out there! Aren’t they? (sniffle)

Once they end the show i was thinking the kids like Rani and Clyde could continue and Rani could be in charge and call it The Rani Adventures :P whether Luke would come back I dunno but they’d have Sky as well and Mr Smith.

If you look closely at one of the plant workers that they hide behind in ep 1 theres another TW/DW/SJA regular!!
Great start to what looked to be a start of a new era introducing Sky .So cruel that it was all ended in the way it did even as a childrens show i really enjoy it.And i was very excited about the new eps except sad knowing that they will be the last, but i dont think that SJ can ever be replaced!!

I would think of it more as a continuation rather than a replacement! In the Whoniverse we remember the one that came before us and reminded us to look up at the stars at night.

It’s just sad that they’ve introduced a new character. I would’ve liked to see Sky progress like Rani, and Maria, and watch Sarah Jane bring up another child the way she did with Luke. It’s just so horrible watching the episodes, knowing they are the last. She looks ever so young and it’s such a tragic loss.

Especially upset about not being able to see Sky progress because, after this first story and the next time for The Curse of Clyde Langer, she’s sort of getting on my nerves with her unbelieveable reactions even she is just as funny as Clyde.

I was thinking about the earlier comment about having Rani take over the show…it occurs to me that if they aged her a bit, it might work! Give her Sarah Jane’s house just like the episode with the red eyed demon girl. It would be like the future really did happen. One of those, can’t fight fate things.

Well if they were going to replace her with anyone although replace is a horrible word in the circumstances and i have heard said that thats it from RTD ,then perhaps Jo Jones would be a good choice!!??!!

If only they hadn’t made Sarah Jane an only child!

The truth is, I am all for them keeping the show alive in some form as long as they didn’t do to it what they did to Torchwood!

    Awww…now I’m all sad again!
