The BBC has confirmed that Phil Ford has written an episode for the upcoming series of Doctor Who.

Phil has penned the second episode of Series 8 which will be directed by Ben Wheatley.

Phil’s last on screen contribution to the show was 2009’s The Waters of Mars which he co-wrote with Russell T Davies and he was also behind 4 of the 5 installments of the interactive online series The Adventure Games.

Series 8 filming began today on Episode 1 by Steven Moffat, also directed by Wheatley.
