Series 8 begins filming in Cardiff – first pic revealed!
It was the beginning of a new chapter for Doctor Who today as filming for the next series commenced in Cardiff!
To mark the start of production, the BBC have released an official behind the scenes photo of the Twelfth Doctor, Peter Capaldi, as he stepped on set for his first full day of filming as the titular Time Lord.
The actor is joined in the picture by Jenna Coleman who will be returning as popular companion Clara Oswald.
While the shot shows Peter in the Eleventh Doctor’s costume, showrunner, and the writer of Peter’s first episode, Steven Moffat has teased that it won’t be long until we get to see our latest hero in his respective attire. He said: “First, the eyebrows! Then, at Christmas, the face! Coming soon, the whole Doctor. In the Cardiff studios, the Capaldi era begins.”

It’s always so weird to see the new Doctor in the old Doctor’s clothes. Hm. Sort of like the old expression about Earthshine: the old moon in the new moon’s arms. But it’s exciting to know they’re recording! WOOHOO! More Who is on its way!
