Samuel Anderson in Series 8 as recurring character
The BBC has revealed that Samuel Anderson will be joining Doctor Who as a recurring character in Series 8.
The actor – whose previous credits include Gavin & Stacey and Emmerdale – will star opposite Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman as Danny Pink, a teacher at Coal Hill School.
He revealed that he’s “so excited” to be joining the TARDIS. “I can’t believe I’m part of it,” he said. “It is a quintessential part of British culture and it’s an honour.”
He added: “I cannot wait to show people how my character gets involved with the duo…”

“Coal Hill School is once again coming to the aid of the TARDIS,” Steven Moffat teased. “In 1963 teachers Ian Chesterton and Barbara Wright accompanied the First Doctor, but these days it’s the turn of Jenna Coleman as Clara Oswald. And soon, Sam Anderson as Danny will join the Doctor’s world. But how and why? Answers will come later this year!”

Hate the name and just when Idris Elba (thankfully) misses out on being the 12th Doctor, someone dressed as Luther joins the show.
On first impressions, I’m not interested in this new character whatsoever, but we’ll have to see what happens later this year.
I wonder if the Doctor will be picking up his granddaughter too.
I like the idea of the twelfth doctor, the start of a new regeneration cycle starts off the same, with two teachers from Coal Hill School. Gives the show a bit of history
Isn’t it time Steven Moffatt proved he is a good writer by being original?

Now THAT would keep me watching!
I’m not totally sure how I feel about him. I felt the same way when they picked Peter Capaldi as the next doctor. I guess I’ll have to keep on watching to see.
