Listen nominated for Hugo Award
Doctor Who has received a coveted nomination at this year’s honourable Hugo Awards.
Series 8’s critically and fan lauded Listen, written by Steven Moffat and directed by Douglas Mackinnon, is shortlisted in the Best Dramatic Presentation, Short Form category alongside respective episode’s of The Flesh, Game of Thrones, Grimm and Orphan Black.
The winners will be revealed at the annual ceremony on 22nd August 2015 at the Sasquan convention in Washington.
A Hugo Award is a particularly prestigious accolade as it’s voted for by members of the World Science Fiction Convention. Previous wins for Doctor Who include The Waters of Mars, The Pandorica Opens/ The Big Bang and The Doctor’s Wife. Fingers crossed!
yes one of my fav of Season 8 I hope it wins the show was Awesome
Wasn’t one of the best episodes of series 8, in my opinion. But, that said, any award for DW is still much deserved.
I can’t help thinking Listen was Steven Moffat indulging himself. Going back to the childhood of the 1st Doctor in the hut where the War Doctor would one day contemplate using The Moment was grandiose without a strong story to support it.
Again, Moffat also made Clara monumentally important to the entire life of the Doctor by implanting a fear into him from the first incarnation. I don’t know why he feels this need to do that, especially because it only makes Clara less likeable as time goes on.

Are these members somehow more important or special than other humans then?
