Steven teases “complicated” Clara in S9
Steven Moffat has revealed that the Doctor and Clara Oswald will have a “complicated” relationship in Series 9.
Jenna Coleman will be reprising her role as the Time Lord’s companion when the series returns to our screens later this year, after changing her mind about her planned departure in last year’s Christmas Special.
According to the showrunner, the dynamic between the duo will be turned on its head in the new episodes, although he remained tight-lipped about what else lies ahead.
“I can’t say too much,” he told Digital Spy. “Although her journey is very pronounced this year and she continues to complicate. The relationship between them is very, very strong.”

SM lives in a fantasy world where Clara is the lead and the Doctor is a back ground character. He needs to go!
I just want her to live….
I just hope there’s more substance to her character this year, as it seems like Moffat is giving her a story a series.
It was the Impossible Girl in Series 7 and in Series 8, it was the whole thing with Danny Pink. I think her relationship with Danny was meant to be Doomsday 2, but I didn’t like him, I thought the relationship between him and Clara was forced and I didn’t feel anything for him or her when it all came crashing down. In truth, I was quite glad.
Anyway, I’m trying not to be negative, so I’ll just say that was Series 8. I’m still going to go into Series 9 with as open a mind as possible and see what it has to offer.
