Ingrid Oliver discusses Osgood reaction
Ingrid Oliver has revealed that she’s still overwhelmed by the fandom’s rapturous reaction to her Doctor Who alter ego.
The actress and comedian made her debut as UNIT scientist Osgood in the 50th anniversary special, The Day of the Doctor, before returning – and subsequently dying – in last year’s Series 8 finale, Death in Heaven. “When I died, I was like ‘Oh. That’s a shame’,” she told the latest issue of Doctor Who Magazine, on sale today. “I made the decision to go out, and then I got a text from my agent saying, ‘You’re trending on Twitter!’ It was absolute insanity to me.”
Death is not in an option in Doctor Who, of course, as she’ll be back alongside the Zygons in Series 9. She will also join Jemma Redgrave in Big Finish’s forthcoming UNIT spin off.
