Series 10: Steven teases “amazing” writers
Steven Moffat has revealed that two “prominent” new writers will be joining Doctor Who for Series 10.
Speaking at a press screening of this year’s Christmas Special – The Husbands of River Song – this week, the showrunner confirmed that work on Peter Capaldi’s third string of TARDIS adventures, set to air in 2016, is already well underway, with plenty of surprises in store. “We’ve had meetings today with two writers who’ve never written Doctor Who before,” he said. “They are both brilliant and amazing, but if I told you their names, your brain would explode.”
Recent speculation suggested that Series 10 would be cut down to a handful of feature-length specials to accommodate a “drastic” behind the scenes reboot, however Steven has affirmed that it will still be the now traditional 12 episodes, as well as a Christmas Special.
