Final Xmas Special ratings revealed
The final UK ratings for the 2015 Doctor Who Special, The Husbands of River Song, have been revealed.
The consolidated figures – which account for viewers who tuned in live plus those who watched it within a week of its transmission – bring its initial overnight (5.77 million) up to 7.69 million, making Doctor Who the 8th most watched programme on Christmas Day and the 7th highest rated that week. For those who like to keep track, the festive episode has become the least watched Christmas Special to date, behind Last Christmas which achieved 8.28 million.
The seasonal adventure – Peter Capaldi’s second aboard the TARDIS as the Twelfth Doctor and the show’s eleventh overall – will be released on DVD and Blu-ray later this month.
