Series 1 to 4 of Doctor Who will be making their way to Blu-ray in the UK later this month.
Although they’re already available in the format as part of the previously released Complete Series 1-7 collection, this is the first time that fans will be able to purchase each individual series in their fully remastered 1080p high definition glory.
The boxsets will be available to own from 31st August 2015, including all the special features that were included on each of their original respective DVD releases.

Disney XD has acquired the rights to repeat David Tennant’s episodes of Doctor Who, it has been announced.
The US cable channel, aimed at 6 to 14 year olds, launched in 2009 and is home to top rated animated shows including Star War Rebels and the Marvel animated series.
It begins airing Series 2 through to Series 4 with a special screening of New Earth on Saturday 9th May, before a marathon kicks off on Saturday 13th June featuring 8 episodes a day for a whole week.
The episodes will also be available to watch via the Watch Disney XD app from 14th June.

Hettie MacDonald will be returning to direct Doctor Who this year, it has been confirmed.
Her upcoming Series 9 episode began filming today as part of the production’s second shooting block but she’s no stranger to the Doctor’s adventures because she previously helmed Blink in Series 3. The iconic episode introduced the Weeping Angels and it went on to won a prestigious Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation, Short Form back in 2007. The new series will begin on BBC One in the autumn.

Andrew Garfield has revealed that he remains hugely proud and honoured to say that he has appeared in Doctor Who.
The actor will soon be seen as Spiderman in The Amazing Spider-Man and portrayed Frank in the Series 3 two-parter Daleks in Manhattan and Evolution of the Daleks.
In a recent interview with BBC Radio 5 live he spoke very highly of the series and praised current Doctor Matt Smith’s portrayal of the iconic Time Lord.
“It was an honour to be part of that show, absolutely,” he said. “And I’m so happy that everyone is now seeing Matt Smith for the incredible actor and Doctor that he is. I’m so proud of him because he’s being put to fantastic use and giving many people much joy.”

France Television Distribution have today confirmed that boxsets of Series 4 and the 2009/10 Specials will be released on DVD in France this summer!
The announcement comes after French fans launched an online petition for a DVD of David Tennant’s final episodes as the Tenth Doctor, and they’ll be pleased to hear that for the first time they’ll be able to get both Series 4 (€24,99) and the Specials (€19.99) from 15th June! Both boxsets will be French dubbed with French subtitles.
In addition, the same day will see the releases of complete Series 1, Series 2 and Series 3 boxsets for €24,99 each! Although the first three series have previously been made available, the updated sets, also dubbed in French, will sport new packaging.
Series 5 continues tomorrow on France 4, with Vincent et le Docteur & Le colocataire.

The BBC Press Office has confirmed that the third series of Doctor Who is to make its way to BBC Entertainment.
Launched in November 2009, the pan-regional channel is available across Europe and in the Middle East, and will welcome Freema Agyeman’s first series as Martha Jones alongside David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor this Autumn.

The third installment of Doctor Who is full of new thrills, new laughs, new heartbreak and some terrifying new monsters. From the moment the Doctor (David Tennant) walks into the life of medical student Martha Jones (Freema Agyeman) he changes it forever. Together they find themselves travelling through time and space encountering extraordinary events, amazing worlds and faces both old and new. The acclaimed third series of Doctor Who will begin its latest repeat run on BBC Three from tonight!
Over the next few weeks you’ll be able to relive the Doctor’s adventures with Martha Jones, as they save the world with William Shakespeare, do battle with the Cult of Skaro in Manhattan and try their best to out smart the Weeping Angels, and it all kicks off with Smith and Jones, tonight at 19.00 on BBC3!
