new-interviews-with-murray-gold-and-nick-briggs

DigitalSpy have released two new interviews with Murray Gold and Nick Briggs filmed at the launch of Doctor Who Live on Friday.

In his interview, Murray talks about the joys of composing the music for the series, explaining: “It’s constantly a challenge, and I like a challenge, and so far it hasn’t bored me, because it keeps innovating enough to be interesting to a restless mind like mine, so I’m with it for now. In all kinds of ways, it’s like a journey.”

Meanwhile, Nick noted that it’s “thrilling” to part of the tour, and also touched on the likelihood of the Daleks returning in the forthcoming series. He explained: “Doctor Who doesn’t need the Daleks to be successful. There were many, many years in the past before the series came back where the Daleks didn’t feature, so maybe it’s time for the Daleks to rest. Oh dear – I don’t think my bank manager will be very pleased!”

Do you agree with Nick? Do we need a break from the Daleks? Share your thoughts!

sky-news-talks-to-matt-ahead-of-doctor-who-live-launch

As we reported yesterday, Matt Smith appeared on Sky News earlier this afternoon on a video link live from London’s Wembley Arena as the last minute touches were being put to the Doctor Who Live proceedings!

The arena tour kicks off at the venue tonight and the Eleventh Doctor actor will be taking a seat in the audience to watch its first ever peformance! He told Sky News that “the audience are the third character” throughout the show and that he hopes it will be ”very frightening” for them.

If you missed it or want to see Matt again, you can watch a clip of his interview on the Sky News website, in which he is pressed on how long he intends to stay in the role.

He explains: “As an actor, everyday is a privilege and an adventure, because the sets are constantly changing, the types of actors you get to work with are constantly changing and are really high calibre, so I’m taking it year by year, but I’m very happy in the role, and I think I’ve got a long way to go in it. I think I can get better and I’d like to realise that, but I don’t know. How long is a piece of string? It’s impossible to call – but I don’t want to give it up any time soon. It’s a thrilling job!”

doctor-who-live-a-huge-action-filled-production

Doctor Who Live finally kicks off tomorrow night, and one of its stars, Karl Greenwood, has spoken to LastBroadcast about his anticipation for the show.

The actor has appeared in the television series as various monsters and will also be taking them to the stage throughout the tour, promising audiences a ”huge, action filled production”. He teased: “It’s a multilayered extravaganza. The set is big, the music is epic, the monsters are right there with you.”

He continued: “Several of the scenes have been written by the brilliant Steven Moffat. It draws you in from the very start. Everyone involved has had to work very closely with the pyrotechnics guys, the illusionists and props, set and lighting guys – the show is so intertwined with all these factors – it’s fantastic to be involved.”
