    Well done guys. 4th place since Doctor Who’s return. That must surely hurt those who doubted SM and Matt Smith’s abilities to take over! The backlash against MS is failing as well as the DT repeats are showing poor viewing figures. Matt Smith will go from strength to strength, all he needs now are decent companions!

    Averaging 1.5m during daytime can hardly be described as “poor viewing figures”. Especially with episodes that have been viewed by 12m on first viewing and been constantly available on iPlayer, DVD and digital channels since first airing!

    The Matt Smith “backlash” was almost non-existent and lasted until The Eleventh Hour aired…

    Oh I am pleased for the ratings they got but this is got to stick in the claw of the SM/MS lovers who rate the series more than RTD’s era. all i can say is the figures dont lie!!! :)

    @David
    Technically not true. The Matt Smith/Steven Moffat backlash continues up until this day, but exists within a minor group.

    @pirko
    Steven’s first Christmas Special may have been beaten by two previous Christmas Specials, but it beat three previous Christmas Specials so…
