Matt dropped by to chat to Graham Norton on his Radio 2 show earlier today to discuss his drama Christopher and his Kind, which airs tonight on BBC Two at 9:30pm.

During the interview he of course also mentioned Doctor Who, particularly the “extraordinary” adventure the Doctor will be embarking on in the forthcoming US two-parter. ”I have to say, the first two new episodes are extraordinary,” he said. “Steven’s done this mad, wonderful job of them, and there’s this new monster called the Silence.”

He continued: ”It’s the scariest monster in a long a time. I can’t tell you what it does!”

So the Silence is definitely a monster. That’s the biggest giveaway we’ve had since… well, since The Big Bang!

Ah, see what you mean. Gosh. That’s quite a cool monster, if it is that. And yeah, the Silence sounds better than the Hush to my mind.
