Tonight was The Almost People, which means it’s now the almost end, and after that cliffhanger, it’s certainly going to be a long week!

Thankfully, the official site has treated us to a tantalising prequel featuring a familiar figure, and there’s also a new trailer to whet our appetites. In the mid-series finale, key players conspire as the Doctor prepares to face his darkest hour, and River Song acknowledges that it’s time to reveal her most closely guarded secret at last…

    I’m really hoping we find out who River is next week. If something happens like ‘Ok, I’ll tell you, I am…TO BE CONTINUED’ and we have to wait until autumn I wont be a happy lady!

    @Katie
    You’ve just reminded me: hopefully the BBC release a trailer for the second half of the series, either after A Good Man Goes To War (which they should do because, personally, every penultimate episode ending with “To be continued” is starting to get annoying) or online as they did last night for Episode 7.

    @grumbly as the parent of an 8yo who loves doctor who, he sees worse things on shows like The Simpsons (some of those episodes are very dodgy and not suitable for children). Doctor Who is meant to be scary for little kids, they are meant to hide behind the couch, (although he doesn’t at all – the scarier the better). I’d rather he saw a woman in pain giving birth in a tv show than what is usually portrayed – ie oh my water broke, here comes the baby, oh here it is wasn’t that easy – think the episode of baywatch where a woman gives birth on the beach without removing her one-piece bathers lol.
    I don’t think they will overstep the boundaries on this episode, but they will come close. That’s all right with me. It’s Doctor Who.
    He’s far more interested in the scary monsters than in Amy anyway.
