Rumour: Classic Series monter to return next year
The Daily Star has reported that a monster from the Classic Series will be making a return to our screens next year.
According to the tabloid, the Doctor and his new companion, played by Jenna-Louise Coleman, will be encountering the Ice Warriors during the second half of Series 7 in 2013.
A show source explains that their comeback is part of the “exciting” plans being put in place in the build up to the 50th anniversary of the show.
They added: “Who fans have been crying out for the return of the Ice Warriors, and they’ve got their wish.” You can read the full article on the Daily Star site here.

Be great if they were, but I think that’s been a rumour before pretty much every series since the show came back.
I would love to see them, because I haven’t watched the classic Doctor Who yet. They were mentioned in an episode of the new Doctor Who, though.
Yeah, I’ve only heard of them and heard them referenced, never actually seen any episodes of the Classic Series with them in though.
If it is true then that would be interesting, because RTD said he was never going to bring them back, so it’d be great if the Moff did. I think they’d fit well as a villain for Matt Smith.
But why oh why can’t the Zygons come back? They’re lone appearance is so memorable that it still amazes me that out of all the monsters that could come back the Zygons never have. They looked great in Classic Who, so they’ll look great in NuWho too and surely the fact that they’re David Tennant’s favourite monster is reason enough to bring them back.

It’s not based on much, just an interview with Caroline Skinner, where she’s asked if the Zygons will be back in Series 7 because they were part of the Doctor Who: Worlds In Time MMO.
She just laughed and said “Wait and see”
