Billie Piper is to make her debut at the National Theatre in the autumn, it has been confirmed.
The Rose Tyler actress has joined the cast of The Effect, a new play written by Lucy Prebble, exploring the questions of sanity, neurology and the limits of medicine.
Directed by Rupert Goold, the production will also star Jonjo O’Neill, Tom Goodman-Hill and Anastasia Hille. It will open at the Cottesloe Theatre in London later this year.
Fans will also be able to catch Arthur Darvill on stage in London this autumn – from 3rd October, he’ll be seen in the West End premiere of Our Boys at the Duchess Theatre.
I would love her back in Doctor Who, even though she’s in it’s past history. A comeback for Rose would be amazing! Perhaps the 50th Anniversary could see that :D

Noooooo!
Her time is over, let’s leave her alone, because she’s not the perfect companion that many perceive her to be. RTD over used and I now I’m just bored of her. I’m just glad Billie Piper herself has said she’s not coming back again.
If any companions come back I’d like to see them from the Classic Series, give the show something fresh instead of recycling the same NuWho companions over and over again.
@Tom Versey
Definitely not. Rose was a big element in series 1, 2, 3, and 4. Series 1 and 2 was enough, but RTD dragged her out through the next two series. I agree that she was a good companion, but as Borusa said, her time is over.
Break a leg Billie! Wishing you the best always.
I miss her in doctor who. I admire her and wish her the best of luck in everything she does in the future
