Series 7: Part 1 DVD, Blu-ray coming in November!
Series 7 hasn’t even started yet but us Doctor Who fans do like to think ahead, so let’s talk about the DVD shall we!?
According to many retailers Series 7: Part 1 will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on 12th November 2012. The 2-disc set will contain the first 5 episodes of the series, which are Amy and Rory’s final adventures. Of interest, the DVD description says their exit is “one of the most heartbreaking” stories in the show’s history! It’s amazing how far off Series 7 of Doctor Who on DVD is for me.
Not only am I going to wait for the full boxset, which will be after the 50th Anniversary next year, but I will then have to wait down the price for a few months.
All that to avoid buying two separate parts.
I doubt the full boxset will be after the 50th, it’s apparently coming out Summer 2013 so the 50th specials would get their own mini boxset.@JC
I’m definitely going to wait until the full series 7 boxset is released.

So, we will still have to keep hold of our copies of “The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe” on DVD, or buy it seperately incase we don’t have it, because it wn’t be in the series 7: Part 1 boxset like it should be?
BBC, stop raping my bank account please.
@Adam Towers
So they’ve finally got me, I’ll have to buy two separate boxsets, though I guess the Specials boxset will be cheaper than a full series.
It’s not too much of a problem, I bought the 2009 Specials boxset
I’m not fussed, it would make a 15 episode boxset for series 7 coming out summer 13 and like you said, a cheaper 50th mini-boxset.@JC
@William
A Christmas Carol wasn’t part of the Series 6 Part 1 box set like it shouldn’t have been so why would The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe be included in this one? Besides, it’ll be part of the Series 7 box set next summer.
