The Doctor has been off our screens for 8 months but tonight he returned – with a bang.
All the weeks of anticipation and speculation have been building up to tonight’s opening episode, Asylum of the Daleks – the first of 5 brand new blockbuster stories that will be bringing the cinema experience to our living rooms every Saturday night this month…
As always with Doctor Who, we were thrown head first into the deep end of things, and our beloved Time Lord set out on an impossible mission at the hands (well, plungers…) of those pesky Daleks. When they said this adventure would feature every Dalek ever, they weren’t lying! Across the 50 heart-stopping minutes, we saw a menacing menagerie of those iconic foes that all of us love to hate. But that wasn’t all the Doctor had to face…
As Amy and Rory were reunited with their raggedy friend, the honeymoon was over for the once happy couple. With their relationship in meltdown, it was down to the Doctor to save the Pond’s marriage – oh, and the day. Business as usual for the TARDIS trio then!

Did anyone else notice the similarity between the Dalek presidents voice and that of the voice heard as the tardis was blowing up at the end of season 5.
