Steven teases next year’s adventures in new SFX!
The Doctor and Clara are featured on the cover of the latest SFX which is on sale now.
Inside the issue is an exclusive interview with showrunner Steven Moffat, who discusses the seasonal spooks in store in The Snowmen – plus what lies ahead for the Doctor and his new companion in 2013. Series 7’s remaining 8 episodes will be aired next year and Steven has promised that “they are huge”. “There’s no two-parters so they’re all standalone stories,” he said. “We’re back at the movie posters thing.”
He added: “There isn’t the budget-saver episode. I don’t know how we’ve done it. We’ll find out at the end when we have no money left and will have to go to prison. Coming up we have Doctor Who taking on the modern urban thriller, a base-under-siege story and an absolutely amazing alien planet. Then we have a really cracking ghost story and Neil Gaiman doing the Cybermen. You will see more of the TARDIS than you have ever seen before and we’ve Diana Rigg and junior Diana Rigg in an absolutely mental story…”
The final will feature “more than you think could possibly happen in one episode”. Yikes!

there may not be any 2-parters but it still seems like there’s a story arc what with the daleks not knowing who the doctor is. and it makes sense if they’re splitting the season like this and still only doing 13 episodes. That’d be 2 episodes gone to one story. If they start doing more episodes each season (which they should) they can bring back the cliff hangers but until then i understand the decision not to. And Gaiman doing the Cybermen? now that’s awesome.
i do have to say i am a little disappointed that there’s no money-saver episode. those always tend to be the best written ones. Although i’m sure that they can make it work
