50th Anniversary Countdown: In the beginning…

This year – on 23rd November to be precise – the worldwide phenomenon that is Doctor Who will turn 50 years old.

We’re commemorating its historic milestone and building up to the grand occasion by devoting each month to a different Doctor, so throughout January we’ve been remembering his first incarnation, played, of course, by the legendary William Hartnell. William brought the Time Lord to life back in 1963 and it was his portrayal of our now beloved hero that set the wheels of TV’s longest science fiction series in motion.

Join us as we take a trip in the TARDIS (the Doctor has lent us the keys while he’s on is break!) to uncover how the legend started – our First Doctor feature has information, facts and interviews about the show’s early years. It all began with An Unearthly Child…

Share your 50th anniversary hopes and dreams in our dedicated discussion…
