Third time lucky as we celebrate the Third Doctor!
March is now upon us and not only does this mean we have got BRAND NEW Doctor Who to look forward to this month, but it means our 50th anniversary countdown continues.
Every month leading up to the big event we’ll be dedicating to another incarnation of our favourite Time Lord, and after starting the landmark year with our First Doctor festivities and showing a lot of love to the Second Doctor throughout Valentine’s month, the time has come for the Third Doctor to step into the spotlight – and what a Doctor he was!
The suave and dapper Third Doctor, played by Jon Pertwee, first appeared on screens in 1970. When he wasn’t practicing karate or reversing the polarity of the neutron flow, he was defending Earth from the likes of Sea Devils and Daleks alongside his irreplaceable companions Liz Shaw, Jo Grant and Sarah Jane Smith. His tenure in the TARDIS was a golden era for the show, not only because the Doctor’s adventures were being broadcast in colour for the very first time! What are your memories of Doctor 3? The Third Doctor was the first Classic incarnation (which kind of makes him my favorite…). I love the dynamic of the show during his and the Fourth Doctor’s time, I can’t watch any of those episodes without laughing, crying, and enjoying myself greatly. It’s just fun to watch!!!
*the first classic incarnation that I saw. ^_^
I love Jon Pertwee. Also he and i have the same birthday:)
