John calls for Captain Jack and River Song spin off
John Barrowman has revealed that he would love to star in a new spin off show featuring Captain Jack and River Song.
Speaking to TV Addict the actor said that he hadn’t realised how much him and Alex Kingston have in common until they bumped into each other at a showbiz party. “We didn’t even say anything we just looked at each other and went “Aaahh! My god!” he recalled. “So we got a glass of champagne then started talking, and we both said how cool it would be if Jack and River got their own TV show.”
He continued: “As we talked more we realised we’re both born on the same day and we have so much in common. We like a lot of the same things and our attitude towards stuff is similar. It struck a chord with us – that is why River and Jack are similar characters in their attitude and their fun and aggression. We are the same in real life, which is ironic.”
So would you tune in for The Jack and River Show? Any ideas for potential titles/stories?

John recently said he’s “really upset” to not be invited back for the 50th anniversary.
I think that would be a cool idea
I also think it should be treated as a special mini series instead of an ongoing show.
I’ve actually got an idea for how they could meet… In The Pandorica Opens we see River Song “Buys” a Vortex Manipulator. The guy she “Buys it from said it came from an handsome Time agent. There have been many people who think it Means Jack, so I was thinking that Jack crosses the universe to find River and get his Vortex Manipulator back from River by force, causing cosmic mahyem for the universe!
what Do you people think?
P.S, do not try stealing this idea because I have it under copyright.
It wouldn’t make a series, perhaps a one-off episode, but not another spin-off.
I think both of them together would be too much, it’d more thank likely be a parody than a proper addition to Doctor Who. Jack and River are fine separately, though they do need other characters to balance out their……extraordinary personalities.
So no, for me, I wouldn’t watch a River/Jack spin-off, it’d be way too over-the-top.
What I said refers to a Jack/River series in general, by the way.
