It’s the one we’ve all been waiting for, but was it worth the wait? In this week’s epic two-parter, Sarah Jane and the gang are joined by none other than the Eleventh Doctor himself – and guess what? Jo Grant’s only come along to join in with the fun too!

PART 1 – When the Doctor is declared dead, old companions Sarah Jane and Jo Grant meet for the very first time, and join forces to discover the truth. As an interstellar conspiracy gathers around UNIT HQ, Clyde finds that he holds the fate of the Time Lord in his hand - quite literally!

Here is where you can get all your thoughts regarding this week’s adventure off your chest! Did you enjoy seeing the Doctor and Sarah Jane back together? Did she react to his new incarnation like you thought she would? What do you make of the Shansheeth?

There’s certainly lots to talk about with this one, and only one place to spill the beans!

PART 2 - Old friends fight together to make one last stand against the sinister Shansheeth. But with Clyde and Rani trapped in terrible danger, Sarah Jane and Jo Grant realise their worst fears - their friendship with the Doctor might be the very thing that dooms them.

An intriquing first part to the story. Today was the first I’ve seen of this series and I only wanted to watch it because of the Doctor.

I enjoyed the first part and towards the end, but I felt the middle dropped off a bit, perhaps it was a little too sentimental for my taste, though seeing flashbacks of the 3rd, 4th and 10th Doctors was cool. I also liked that they linked this story to the story that involved the 10th Doctor.

Very much looking forward to the next part.

I loved the first part of this story I am a huge DW,TW,SJA adventures fan :) …I loved the fact that Jo is back she just amazing and her grandson is rather nice to look at ;) lol, I loved all the sentimental stuff and looking back over their travels its nice to put in a bit more DW history for those who are to young to remember it.
The story is really great and the writting is good to I could of so told it was RDT’s writting if I didn’t know already it was written by him. Great way to bring Matt Smiths Doctor into it and a great way to leave the episode with a nice little ‘Haha where going to Kill you Doctor’ moment.
judging by the trailer it seems that UNIT are invovled in this whole thing, not a big shock there, but I’m sure the Doctor and friends will save the day :D another great SJA story.
    BRING ON PART 2 :D

I thought it was a good first part. However, the Shansheeth are too puppet-like and are nowhere near the standards of any creature created so far for Doctor Who, Torchwood or SJA – something which really does not help them being bad villains.

Laila Rouass, though, is fantastic as Colonel Karim and looks set to be a superb villain in Part Two!

I can’t believe the Doctor’s off hand (and casually cruel) reaction to Jo, first he more or less calls her stupid then he tells her she looks baked. Now, I know Three and Jo had some tense moments but HELLO! Green Death anyone? I do hope they manage to remedy this in part two. Aside from that a squee-worthy episode in every way. (Liz on the moon? niiice) The brig is STILL having issues in Peru I wonder if RTD will make use of this in his nuTorchwood as it keeps coming up.

Am i the only one who thought it was a load of cack? Was dissapointed with the chicken aliens, looked like a episode of the muppet show and poor Jo was more like a old person suffering with dementia.
Plot was full of holes like a tramps vest, very dissapointing.

Well, I watched the second part and it was ok, can’t say much more than that. As a Doctor Who fan, I have to remember that the SJA isn’t Doctor Who and that the Doctor really only guest stars and that’s all these two episodes were really.

I don’t think the episodes were as good as the ones featuring the 10th Doctor, I thought the music overwhelmed the speech of the cast on a couple of ocassions and I couldn’t quite hear what was being said………..did the Doctor reply 507 or something else to the question of how many times he can regenerate now?

They were ok episodes. As has been said, there was quite a few problems, the aliens were clearly men with a bird puppet sticking to their chests and I can’t really comment on Jo Grant’s characterisation, since I don’t know anything of her original part in Doctor Who, but she did seem other enthusiastic about everything and a bit……….ditsy, shall we say.

Yeah, worth watching and it’s not fair to compare Doctor Who and the SJA, but I’ll be glad to get back to proper Doctor Who at Christmas.

I Think he said 500% , but to what that means i havn’t a clue xP i was wlways under the impressio from what was said in the previous episodes to be able to regenerate 12 times , so he’s got 2 more to go

He said 507, look at the interview with Russell T. Davies.

Yup, RTD’s gone and upped it!

Part Two wasn’t one of the best episodes. However, it wasn’t one of the worst and was certainly a lot better than yesterday’s. To be honest, this story proves that RTD should just stick with Torchwood.

On the other hand, loved Jo’s return, Matt was brilliant as usual and Karim was a fantastic villain as expected.

Can’t wait for The Empty Planet and Lost in Time now, especially the latter (TTR, FTU!)

The second part was much better than part one. Sarah Jane and co.’s reaction to the new regeneration was amusing and I liked how they showed all the clips from the classic series and David Tennant from the End of Time etc. I think it’s a better Doctor episode than last years but I would of loved to see Luke meet the new Doctor..

    @Sam
Yeah, Lukes reaction to the doctor would have been quite interesting to see.

I thought there was a distinct lack of real feeling about the Doctor’s supposed death. I mean, Rani and Clyde really did believe that he had died, and yet they were joking around as normal. I know this is a kids’ show, but still…

Karim was brilliant – she had a motive! And layers! Brilliant bit of writing there, thank you, RTD! The Shansheeth… weren’t too bad. A little bit self-contradictory, but never mind. And I agree with @Sam and @Ilovereadinganddoctorwho: it would have been great to see Luke’s reaction to the new Doctor, and moreover, what happened to him when UNIT burst in? He was still on webcam! Did no one go over to tell him what was going on?

@TSG- I noticed that, maybe they will explain next time.

OMG, ‘Death of the Doctor’ has to be the best episodes of the SJA to date! And the fact that Russell T Davies managed to tie up fifty years of canon under two minutes is pure genius! And finally, a Harry mention *dies* I am still yet to come out of my nostalgic haze. Also congrats’ to Sam Watts for a beautiful score. See y’all at Christmas!

You guys don’t know what’s good when it’s right in front of you. Easily the best episode of SJA ever. The “vultures” were hilarious, and if you don’t see it at first, just ask a kid sitting next to you. This is a children’s show, remember? Matt was amazing as usual, and what a lovely present from Russell. He wrote the 11th Doctor perfectly, and used all the elements that Steven Moffat set up in series 5 of the regular show… Loved it! Nice bridge until the Christmas Special, two months from now.
