Sheridan Smith has revealed that she would love to appear as the Doctor’s companion in Doctor Who.

The Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps and Legally Blonde: The Musical actress has previously played companion Lucie Miller in the Eighth Doctor audio adventures, but has admitted that she wouldn’t pass up the opportunity to accompany the Doctor on screen! “It’s every actress’ dream to be the new assistant – fighting the Daleks,” she said. “I’d kick their a***s!”

She’s my absolute dream companion. She’s bound to be it one day, she’s perfect for the role! Let’s just hope it’s not a one off christmas special and she gets a full series kicking Daleks ass with Matt Smith!

If Sheridan does appear on screen, hopefully she returns as Lucie Miller rather than a new companion.

I think she’d be brilliant as an on screen companion. A perfect mash up of Donna and Rose. Apparently she was heavily considered for the companion role in ‘Planet of the Dead’ but couldn’t make it due to other commitments.

I think Sheridan would be an excellent companion – when can she start?
