Comic Con: Trio talk parting ways, impact of roles
Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill visited Nerd HQ at Comic Con to answer some questions from the fans.
When asked about what it was like filming their final scenes together, they agreed that it was “really emotional”. “I was crying for about two weeks,” Karen revealed. “I didn’t hold it together at all, so everything set me off.” Matt, who is now working with new companion Jenna-Louise Coleman, said it is “strange” to not have the Ponds around. “We were like two brothers bullying their younger sister,” he laughed.
Arthur reaffirmed it has “been the most amazing three years”, while Matt acknowledged that the show continues to be “utterly overwhelming”. “It’s transformed my life,” he said.
Of course, a question about the proposed 50th anniversary multi-Doctor episode was inevitable, and the Whovians in attendance didn’t let us down! “To get David and Chris back would be amazing,” Matt confirmed. “Yeah, that would be something really special.”
You can watch the whole panel in the player below. Look out for all of the above, as well as a performance of Bohemian Rhapsody, plus Karen’s brilliant impression of a… Dalek! Now there’s two things we never thought we would say. Only on a Doctor Who panel eh?

I watched the second half of their panel at Comic-Con live, but it meant I stayed up until 3:45am.
A slight spoiler for the video…………Bohemian Rhapsody seems to spread through Doctor Who related shows. Karen, Matt and Arthur did it (turn the volume down, lol) and the Series 2 Torchwood cast did it as well.
Both equally funny and the panel was good, might have to watch again and see the first half.
I had just taken a bite of my cupcake when the Bohemian Rhapsody singing started. Needless to say, I am still coughing from choking on it.
Anyway – great panel and great questions from the audience! Matt, Karen and Arthur all seem so comfortable on stage and the chemistry between them is brilliant!
