Asylum of the Daleks screening: round up, reviews!
The first episode of the new series was premiered at the BFI in London last night – read on for our round up of what went down!
As lucky fans and various critics alike prepared to enter the Asylum of the Daleks, the stars of the series – that’s Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill – were all on hand to speak to the press about their latest adventures – here is Matt Smith speaking to BBC News about what fans can expect from his third series as the Doctor.
And what about the episode itself? Well, the reviews have started pouring in! With Radio Times predicting that the “dazzlingly written” story will go down as “an all-time classic”, the Telegraph have said the Doctor is “back with a bang”, teasing “one huge, how-did-they-keep-that-a-secret? surprise” and a “subtly tweaked” opening credit sequence. The adventure is “worth the wait” according to the Guardian, and the Evening Standard summarise: “Almost half a century ago the knowing, yet gloriously innocent, Doctor Who was the sharpest pre-watershed British TV had. Thankfully, some things never change.”
If teasers are what you’re after, we’ll point you in the direction of Digital Spy and SFX, but for a non-spoilery round up of the occasion you can rely on the official site, who’ve a great video of the proceedings – and listen to Steven chatting to Richard Bacon here!

I think 1st September is confirmed now. Not 100% sure, though.
@e.p
25th August is a possible air date too
@Mia
Yup. The Media Centre update tomorrow will most likely confirm this.
