Asylum of the Daleks by Steven Moffat, Directed by Nick Hurran
Kidnapped by his oldest foe, the Doctor is forced on an impossible mission – to a place even the Daleks are too terrified to enter… the Asylum. A planetary prison confining the most terrifying and insane of their kind, the Doctor and the Ponds must find an escape route. But with Amy and Rory’s relationship in meltdown, and an army of mad Daleks closing in, it is up to the Doctor to save their lives, as well as the Pond’s marriage.
Dinosaurs on a Spaceship by Chris Chibnall, Directed by Saul Metzstein
An unmanned spaceship hurtles towards certain destruction – unless the Doctor can save it, and its impossible cargo… of dinosaurs! By his side a ragtag gang of adventurers; a big game hunter, an Egyptian Queen and a surprised member of the Pond family. But little does the Doctor know there is someone else onboard who will stop at nothing to keep hold of his precious, prehistoric cargo.
A Town Called Mercy – by Toby Whithouse, Directed by Saul Metzstein
The Doctor gets a Stetson (and a gun!), and finds himself the reluctant Sheriff of a Western town under siege by a relentless cyborg, who goes by the name of the Gunslinger. But who is he and what does he want? The answer seems to lie with the mysterious, Kahler-Jex, an alien doctor (yes another one!) whose initial appearance is hiding a dark secret.

Since 1963, the Daleks have always been about Race Purity (ok, except for the appalling Daleks In Manhattan) so find it very odd to be faced with an upcoming story about a Dalek Prison. Surely a race hell bent on purity would have no insane member of society and would kill them. It will be interesting to see the episode.
Having read the synopsis of Asylum of The Daleks, I have to admit to being concerned.
We were told that we’d have an episode with all the Daleks going back to 1963. That appears to technically true, but it’s also technically true that they’re not Daleks.
You just have to go to the end of Series 4, when the pure-bred Supreme Dalek called Dalek Caan “the abomination” because of his perceived madness. The RTD Daleks were exterminated in Series 5 for being inferior.
Now we’re being told there’s a Dalek Asylum, where tons and tons of deranged Daleks have been locked up instead of exterminated.
The Daleks clearly reject the “Daleks” found in the Asylum, so they’re not Daleks.
@JC
Well they are Daleks, just insane Daleks who have been rejected.
@TWWL Daleks are killed if they are not racial pure, it is written in Doctor Who Lore. Including New Who as JC says. So why would there be a planet of deranged Daleks.
