Title sequence revamp, new theme tune confirmed
As Doctor Who heads into its 50th year it’s been confirmed that a new title sequence AND theme tune are on the way!
The updates will be seen – and heard – for the first time in the opening moments of The Snowmen on Christmas Day, with the revamped titles described as “wonderfully dramatic and striking” with “a couple of unexpected touches”…
Meanwhile, the latest rearrangement of Ron Grainer’s iconic theme is “more thrilling and powerful” than ever before.
Are you excited to hear this news? Are new titles necessary in time for the anniversary?

The Snowmen premieres on BBC One on Christmas Day at 5:15pm. Watch the trailer!
I’ll be interested to see what they’ve come up with for the new theme and title sequence.
I’ve got used to the Series 5/6/7 Part 1 theme and title sequence, but when I first saw and heard it, I really didn’t like it.
I have a feeling I won’t like the new one either, but I’ll keep an open mind.
I wonder if the new sequence will feature the face of the 11th Doctor? MAYBE HE’LL EVEN WINK AT US!!! (Ooh, I’ve got goose pimples now!)
Really looking forward to next Tuesday; from the “old” TARDIS interior and the updated title sequence (hopefully with the logo back to the way it was during Series 5/6) to the evilness of Doctor Simeon and his army, The Snowmen is looking to be a fantastic episode!
