Saturday 30th March! That’s right – the countdown to Series 7 Part 2 can now officially begin as the BBC has confirmed its premiere date today. Geronimo!

The very exciting and earlier than expected announcement also reveals that the opening episode is written by Steven Moffat. It is directed by Colin McCarthy, who has previously worked on Hustle, Spooks and Endeavour.

So that’s Saturday 30th March on BBC One – 65 days to go!

Meanwhile, BBC America have confirmed that the Doctor will be back on US screens on the same day, and the TARDIS will reopen its doors on SPACE in Canada the same day.

Series 7: Part 2 will have 8 episodes, including an “urban thriller” and a “ghost story”.
