Caroline Skinner stepping down as Exec Producer
The BBC has confirmed today that Caroline Skinner will be saying goodbye to Doctor Who.
Caro joined the show as an Executive Producer in 2011 but is leaving to return to BBC Drama Production in London. “It has been an honour to have been part of Doctor Who, and a privilege to work with Steven Moffat and Matt Smith,” Caro said. “I have hugely enjoyed my time at BBC Wales and I’d like to thank our production team for their commitment – I will miss them all enormously.”
“I’m leaving Doctor Who in fine form,” she added, “with the new series starting at Easter and the fantastic plans for the 50th anniversary already underway. I am delighted to be returning to BBC Drama in London and the new opportunities and projects it will bring…”
Head of Drama at BBC Wales Faith Penhale, who will serve as Executive Producer on the 50th anniversary 3D special, commented: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Caroline for all her contribution to Doctor Who on behalf of both the BBC and the show.”
We’d like to wish Caroline the very best of luck for the future! The BBC has announced that the search for the series’ newest Executive Producer begins “shortly”. Stick with us!
