Matt says 50th special will host “a lot of surprises”
Matt Smith has promised that the 50th anniversary special of Doctor Who will feature “a lot of surprises” for fans.
In a new in-depth interview with SFX about the next series, which begins on BBC One this Saturday, the actor revealed he feels “very proud” to be at the centre of the celebrations.
“Steven Moffat’s on top form. He has delivered a thoroughly exciting, epic, vast science fiction script,” he said. “We start shooting it very soon. It’s really exciting.”
He also teased: “There will be a lot of surprises coming your way, let me tell you. A lot.”
He also commented on the 50th Royal Mail stamps which feature all eleven Doctors. “It is a great privilege that the nation will be licking the backs of our heads,” he explained. “It is an amazing thing. It’s really cool and it’s something that I can show my grandkids.”
The 50th anniversary special will be shown on TV and in cinemas in 3D this November.
