Friday 26th September 2003 was a day like any other, then something happened that changed the world forever…
“Cult science fiction series Doctor Who is returning to TV, 14 years after it was axed” declared BBC News as work began on the Doctor’s first screen adventures since 1996, and thus began a bright and shining new era! While the Doctor would not make his triumphant return until March of 2005, this day marks the 10th anniversary since his return was announced. And oh, what a 10 years it has been!
Since the show was revived we have had 3 Doctors (soon to be four), over 100 episodes and hours upon hours of pure “timey-wimey” drama. Companions have come and gone, foes old and new have tried their luck with the Doctor (with some living to fight another day), and we’ve discovered that bow ties and fezzes AREcool. Monks, however, are not.
Overall this last decade has proven that life with the Doctor would be VERY dull indeed… What have been your highlights of the last decade? Share them in the comments below!
