Jemma Redgrave has been talking about her return in The Day of the Doctor in an interview with the Independent.

The actress will be back in Saturday’s landmark episode as Kate Stewart, the Brigadier’s daughter, who was introduced in The Power of Three last year. “So, what can I tell you about the 50th anniversary? Well, practically nothing,” she admitted. “But I come across a Dalek. There was no acting required. It was a scarifying moment! I work with more than one Doctor too.”

She also confirmed it would be “wonderful” to reprise the part alongside Peter Capaldi’s Doctor. She explained: “The community of Doctor Who fans have been very kind to me. The Brigadier was such a beloved character so I think people were open to his daughter making an appearance and, hopefully, making some more appearances in the future…”

Jemma has previously teased the episode is both “funny” and also “breaks your heart”. She featured in a scene from the special which aired during Children in Need last week.

The Day of the Doctor premieres globally on TV and in select 3D cinemas this Saturday.
