It has been confirmed that this year’s Doctor Who Christmas Special, Last Christmas, will air at 6:15pm on BBC One on Christmas Day.

Forming the centrepiece of the channel’s seasonal schedule, the episode – Peter Capaldi’s first festive outing as the Twelfth Doctor – will see our heroes joining forces with another iconic figure, Santa Claus, when they find themselves trapped on an Arctic base and under attack from terrifying creatures.

It’s billed as one of their “most incredible adventures yet”.

As well as guest starring Nick Frost as Father Christmas himself, the hour-long special also welcomes Faye Marsay as Shona, Maureen Beattie as Bellows, Natalie Gumede as Ashley Carter and Patrick Troughton’s son Michael Troughton as Professor Albert, joining Dan Starkey as Ian and Nathan McMullen as Wolf. Find out what the title COULD mean here.

I’ll be missing that, then. Nice one, BBC.
