The official Doctor Who website has revealed some new images of Lily Cole as the Siren!
The actress and model will be seen as the “mysterious and beautiful sea creature” in this week’s episode, The Curse of the Black Spot, and, if these pictures are anything to go by, we can say on good authority that things are certainly going to be hotting up for the Doctor, Amy and Rory!
The episode airs on Saturday at 6:15pm on BBC One.
Regarding the new monsters, he teased: “The Silence have a special power to make people forget them. Lily Cole plays a Siren, a demon who lures soldiers to their death. Then, in episodes five and six, we’ve got the The Flesh. It’s a technology that lets humans create duplicates of themselves – but this being Doctor Who, things don’t run smoothly.”
He also reveals details about the security measures put in place to protect Episode 7’s “game-changing” cliffhanger. “For the final scene of the last episode before the mid-series break, we only gave the actors their final lines,” he said. “Everyone else had a script that just said ‘interior of a spaceship hanger’ and that was it.”
Another interesting tidbit from his interview is his revelation that James Corden is now pitching for a trilogy of stories featuring Craig! He also revealed that Matt Smith is “very keen to continue in the role”, adding: “He turns up with a lot of energy, welcomes the guest cast and is ready to work. Matt and Karen have a brother/sister relationship. You cut the camera and immediately they’re dancing to some tune that they’re singing.”
Marcus has also shared his TARDIS fantasy for BBC America’s Time Machine Tales:
The episode – written by Steve Thompson – will air on Saturday 7th May on BBC One/BBC One HD, although the exact time of its transmission is still to be confirmed.
It guest stars Hugh Bonneville as Captain Avery and Lily Cole as the Siren, a mysterious and beautiful sea creature.
The TARDIS is marooned onboard a 17th-century pirate ship whose crew is being attacked by a mysterious and beautiful sea creature.
Becalmed and beset by cabin fever, the pirates have numerous superstitious explanations for the Siren’s appearance. The Doctor has other ideas but, as his theories are disproved and every plan of escape is thwarted, he must work to win the trust of the implacable Captain Avery and uncover the truth behind the pirates’ supernatural fears – and he must work quickly, for some of his friends have already fallen under the Siren’s spell…

Is River Song the Doctor’s wife? Daughter? Stalker? All of the above? Well, stranger things have happened! According to Karen Gillan, the character’s long awaited reveal in the new series will come as a huge shock to viewers.
“There’s a really big cliffhanger at the end of Episode 7, and we find out who River Song is, which is really exciting,” the actress explains in a new interview with Wales Online. “I wanted to know for so long, since she first appeared in the David Tennant years. It’s quite unexpected.”
Regarding the guest stars lined up in Series 6, she said: “It’s amazing. We’ve got Lily Cole playing a really scary lady, and we’ve got some really great guys as well, like Hugh Bonneville, David Walliams and James Corden. These people volunteer to do it, so there’s always a nice atmosphere on set because they want to be there.”
