Christmas Radio Times cover unveiled!

December 4th, 2009

christmas-radio-times-santa-dalekThe artwork for the 2009 Christmas edition of Radio Times has been revealed today, ahead of its release this weekend, and there’s two alternative covers to choose from this year!

The first is based on Strictly Come Dancing, and features an illustrated Father Christmas overlooking a dancing couple toy, while the second represents another of the BBC’s flagship shows… yep, you guessed it! It sports an image of a Dalek wearing a Santa hat to promote the role Doctor Who is playing this year as the centerpiece of festive programming. We know which one we’ll be getting!

It’s thought that the annual seasonal listings magazine, which this year weighs in at 294 pages, will make close to a whopping £7m from its sales revenue.

The Christmas Radio Times double issue is released tomorrow (Saturday), at the price of £2.20!

Brilliant cover. I love the Christmas Radio Times, it’s a huge part of the festive season. Been buying it since I was a kid. It’s funny that RT themselves even refer to it as the “legendary Christmas issue” these days.

Great to see DW so prominently acknowledged again. The 2005 snow globe is a classic cover.

Did anyone notice the tree baubles are little planets? The alternative cover, with the dancers, has glitter balls.
