Mark Gatiss confirmed to be writing for Series 6
Richard Clark has confirmed on his Twitter page that he’ll be directing a Series 6 episode penned by Mark Gatiss.
Last month, the director tweeted: “In the thick of Dr Who. New drafts coming along. Mark Gatiss story wonderful.” Gatiss has previously written The Unquiet Dead, The Idiot’s Lantern and, most recently, Victory of the Daleks. In 2007, he appeared on-screen in The Lazarus Experiment, and is co-creator of the acclaimed Sherlock series alongside Steven Moffat.
Clark will also be helming the 3rd episode of the 2011 series, written by Neil Gaiman.
Are you happy that Gatiss is back for Matt Smith’s second series? Let us know below!
Please bear in mind that the full list of writers is still to be confirmed by the BBC.
i like mark gatiss’s writing because he allways sets his episodes in the past like…
the unquiet dead (1869)
the idiots lantern (1953)
victory of the daleks (1941)
my favorite mark gatiss episode is victory of the daleks because i love the daleks in the london blitz and i love the new daleks.
I still don’t get some of the fury aimed towards Victory; I thought it was mighty fine myself! Okay, I’m not keen on some of the design on the new Daleks, specifically the way they seem to have a hunchback, but the episode itself was great.
Loved all of his episodes so far, so I’m sure this will be another exciting addition!
I wouldn’t say that his episodes are my favorites, but he his an excellent writer and I love him as an actor. Sounds good to me!
Love gatiss as a writer for doctor who! Didnt really like Victory of the Daleks but LOVED the idiots lantern. It had a pretty good story and the villain was actually quite scary (The Wire). Just wish he would be given a two parter story
It’s quite a good schedule so far: Steven penning Episode One, then Neil Episode Three followed by Mark writing Episode Four.
i liked the idiots lantern, but the others weren’t that good compared to the rest of the series.
@ TE, I think because of the “game-changing cliffhanger”, steven moffat would write episode 7 + 8 and the season finale ep 12 + 13.
