Karen says final day on Doctor Who was “serene”
Karen Gillan has described her last ever day on Doctor Who as “serene” in an interview with the Daily Record.
The actress filmed her final shot as Amy Pond on Saturday, and revealed that it was a fitting way for her and Arthur Darvill to finish, because they simply had to walk into the TARDIS for the scene. “The last thing we filmed was us going into the TARDIS,” she explained. “Matt closed the door and we hugged and started crying tears of happiness. It was a feeling of ‘Look at what we’ve done’. It was lovely.”
She added: “It was just a weird day and everyone was feeling it. I didn’t get to keep any Pond stuff though, because everything Doctor Who related goes to the exhibitions. Although I might have taken a little special something away with me from the TARDIS…”
Karen is currently in Cannes promoting her new film, Not Another Happy Ending, which starts filming in July. She will play Jane Lockhart, a passionate writer, in the indie comedy, and said that the project appealed to her because “it’s going to be completely different to anything” she has done. She finished: “I am just taking each acting job as it comes, whether it be more TV, film or theatre. I just want to keep on doing good stuff.”

If I were on tumblr right now, I would say that this article gives me *feels*. As I am not, however, I will refrain from using the bizarre microclimate of tumblr grammar, and instead say that this really makes bittersweetness well up in my heart. And I love that the last thing they filmed was walking into the TARDIS. That’s just so beautiful.
I don’t care that I’m not on Tumblr. TSG expressed it beautifully already, so now I shall treat you all to full Tumblr grammar:
*BURSTS INTO TEARS*
OMG KAREN AND ARTHUR
FEELINGS, ALL OF THE FEELINGS
GO AHEAD AND STOMP ON MY HEART, I WASN’T USING IT ANYWAY…
That is 4chan lingo. Tumblr just took it from reddit who took it from 4chan. Give credit where credit is due.@TSG
Oh god, too many feels.
CREYS.

I do apologise, although one might make the argument that in that case, we should attribute French solely to the Romans…
Doctor Who will move on as it always does. Even newer fans, like myself, have seen Rose, Martha and Donna go and in a way, knowing that Arthur and Karen are leaving has kind of made me disconnect from the characters to get ready for Jenna.
Having said that, that’ll probably change when Doctor Who eventually comes back, but I’m personally ready to see them go.
Goodbye karen gillan hope you had fun in the serious of doctor who with Matt smith
